FAQs
What are Complete Streets? Complete Streets are streets for people. They are designed and operated to enable safe access for all users, including pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists, and transit riders of all ages and abilities.

Why do we need a Complete Streets ordinance? The UG adopted a resolution several years ago which endorsed the idea of Complete Streets. The ordinance seeks to build upon that resolution, by creating stronger language to help the UG develop a safer, healthier, more vibrant street network for everyone.

Why is the UG considering a Complete Streets ordinance now? The UG has taken a number of steps to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. One step has been to create more space for people to spread out and follow physical distancing guidelines. A Complete Streets Ordinance will help ensure that these spaces are safe, healthy, and designed for all users.
